Lucky number 13?
We will be getting married on September 13. The number 13 has been linked to quite a bit in Rob’s life. He was born on April 13, Apollo 13 was in space, his mom was in room 213, he was 6 pounds and 13 ounces, he proposed on 10/13 at Natural Bridge, VA and the time stamped on our tickets for Natural Bridge was 13:13. So after all this, we decided it was rather appropriate that our wedding date will be on the 13th of September.
Where will the wedding be held?
The wedding will be held at The Brome-Howard Inn located in Historic St. Mary’s City, MD. We will be having an outdoor wedding so please dress appropriately. Where can out of town guests stay?
We have reserved a block of rooms at the rate of $104/night at the Hampton Inn in Lexington Park, MD. The Hampton Inn is approximately 15 minutes from the wedding location. There are other hotels in the area including: The Fairfield Inn (Lexington Park, MD), Holiday Inn Select (Solomon’s Island), Hilton Garden Suites (Solomons Island), and Back Creek Inn Bed & Breakfast (Solomons Island). We will include information on all hotels with the invitations.

The wedding colors will be Navy blue and lime green with red, khaki, and white.
Amy’s Lady of Honor (we don’t like to call her a maid!) is her best friend Jen Amber. Jen was the talent, skill and brains who made Amy’s idea for a “Save-The-Date” card into a reality!
Rob’s Best Men are Jeff & Jason Burns – identical twins whom he has been friends with since elementary school!
Amy plans to walk down the aisle to a recording of herself playing the piano – she needs to get practicing!
Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres consisting of bruschetta, spanikopita, chicken profiteroles and fruit & cheese platter will be served before dinner. The dinner will be buffet-style and will include a mixed greens salad (served), carved beef with port wine and portobello mushroom sauce, herb crusted Chilean salmon with balsamic-dijon sauce, breast of chicken stuffed with ham and monterrey jack with tomato cream sauce, medley of roasted and grilled vegetables, roasted potatoes with garlic and rosemary, assorted rolls and butter.
The wedding cake will be made by Sally “Mommacita” Amber. Sally is Jen’s Mom and Amy’s “other” Mom who has been nicknamed “Mommacita” after the “Girls Trip” to Cancun in 2002.
Our photographer will be Bill Merlavage from Cumberland, MD. (Click on his name and you can check out his website.) He is a very talented photographer who does wedding photography on the side. I wanted a few of the “typical” shots, but I also wanted some photography that would be more creative, fun, different and unique which is why I asked Bill to shoot the wedding. Not to mention, he did a great job with my sister’s wedding. There are some pictures from that in the “Wedding Samples” folder within the “Weddings” category on his website.
